In this episode, Michael and Karen O’Brien discuss the possibilities of climate change and how climate change is not just a science, or political “out there” problem - ultimately it is a “relationships issue”. They also discuss some of the reasons why it is so difficult for people to grasp the immensity of the issue and respond with appropriate actions to meet the challenges we are facing. In this very informative, yet positive view on climate change Michael and Karen explore the personal inner journey required to actually face the immensity of the challenges we face. Karen O'Brien is an internationally recognized expert on climate change and society, focusing on themes such as climate change impacts, vulnerability, and adaptation including how climate change interacts with globalization processes and the implications for human security. She is interested in how trans-disciplinary and integral approaches to global change research can contribute to a better understanding of how societies both create and respond to change, and particularly the role of beliefs, values and worldview in transformations to sustainability. She is passionate about what potential there is in quantum social theory and the implications for climate change responses. www.sv.uio.no/iss/english/people/aca/karenob/ To offer your gratitude and support Well of Light Productions: www.patreon.com/welloflight
