We need fewer priests, fewer professors and more shamans.

2021 Shamanic Wisdom Summit
For the past seven years I have had the honor and privilege of hosting the Shamanic Wisdom Summit. What a delight to speak with and receive these transmissions of so much concentrated wisdom, insight and inspiration from so many different traditions, lineages and ancestral heritages. This year I am joined by two amazing co-hosts, Shawna Bluestar and HeatherAsh Amara. If you would like a FREE pass to receive this 5-day program from so many of our contemporary thought leaders, elders and wisdom keepers, please click here.
Why do you think cultural historian Thomas Berry, considered one of the 20th century's most prescient and profound thinkers, would make the above pronouncement about shamans? Perhaps it’s because of his broader perspective and understanding of humanity's relationship to the earth and our urgent need to respond to the ecological and social challenges of our times. Shamanism is an interdependent earth based spirituality that considers all of life as kin. How can we adopt this interconnected perspective on life and living? The real challenge is for us to do our inner work, the healing of our fragmented selves by recognizing and embracing the truth, that we are an integral part of the whole. Wherever there is separation there is healing to be done!

Shamanism is one of the many mystical paths recognizing the Divine Law of non duality. In this year’s summit we receive a broad view from many indigenous and animistic perspectives. Animism is the belief that objects, places, and creatures all possess a distinct spiritual essence. Potentially, animism perceives all things—animals, plants, rocks, rivers, weather systems, human handiwork, and perhaps even words—as animated and alive. What would our world be like if we adopted this larger all encompassing perspective?
By opening ourselves to the words, practices and presence of the wisdom-keepers who’ve stewarded ancestral lands across the millenia, we can learn how to apply their teachings to our daily lives and world. We hope you will join us in sharing the wisdom of this year’s summit to reimagine who we are, why we are here and how we can contribute to the great turning, “the awakening of a higher level of human consciousness and a human turn from an era of violence against people and nature to a new era of peace, justice, and environmental restoration.” e of reality?

Most people think we believe our experience. This is not true;
we experience what we believe.

As Terry Tempest Williams says, Can we love this Earth enough to change? Can we love our soul Self enough to stop trying to be someone we’re not and return to our most tender, vulnerable, authentic, original and compassionate selves. When we lose ourselves in nature we recognize that we are not separate from nature, the wind is our breath, the water our blood, the fire our passion, the earth our body. These are the ancient nature based teachings that are waiting to be embodied, embraced and lived. The future of life itself is waiting for us to live into this sweet embrace of our original goodness and deep connection with all of life. We hope you will - come join us and awaken to your own wild and wonderful inner wisdom...
With infinite love and boundless blessings,
Michael and the Well of Light Team
